NANS wants herdsmen declared as terrorist in Benue

National Association of the Nigerian Students (NANS), has condemned the killing of two Rev. Fathers and 19 others in Benue by suspected herdsmen.  
NANS National Public Relations Officer, Bestman Okereafor, gave this condemnation in a statement issued in Enugu saying Nigerian students received with shock and sadness the gruesome killings and burning down of more than 35 houses at a Catholic Church in Ukpor-Mbalom community, Gwer East Local Government Area of Benue by the suspects.

Police arrest suspected kidnappers, who disguised as women in Hijab and Niqab in Katsina State

Men of the Katsina State Police Command has arrested suspected kidnappers terrorising residents of the state.

While briefing a cross session of newsmen on Monday, the Command's spokesperson, DSP Gambo Isa, said the four suspects were arrested following a tip off, adding that they were planning to kidnap four-year-old boy.

"On 04/04/2018 at about 18:00hrs, based on a tip off, the Divisional Police Officer, GRA Division Katsina, CSP Garba Isah, succeeded in busting a notorious syndicate of kidnappers terrorizing Katsina state and its environs.

Ugandan university suspends staff over sexual harassment of student

A senior administrative assistant in the Academic Registrar’s Department of Makerere University Uganda, Mr Edward Kisuze has suspended for allegedly harassing a female student in his office.

In a letter dated today April 17, 2018, which has also been posted on the university’s Twitter page, the Acting Vice Chancellor, Professor William Bazeyo said Kisuze had been suspended from university service on half pay with immediate effect to allow a smooth investigation into allegations that he harassed the student on Tuesday at his office at Senate Building.

The Nigeria Police Force today paraded the re-arrested suspected assassins they linked to embattled Senator Dino Melaye. 

Recall that the two suspects, Kabiru Saidu aka Osama (31), Nuhu Salisu aka Small (25) and four others escaped from police custody last week March 28th. They were re-arrested after an intense search for them by the police.

Pastor allegedly kills secret lover for rituals, buries her in his church

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested the Pastor-in-charge of Holy Gathering Evangelical Church of God, Elijah Oluwatobiloba, for allegedly killing his lover and burying her body inside his church in Ogun State.

Upon interrogation, the suspect claimed that he carried out the heinous act for reasons known to “him and God”. The Commissioner of Police , Ahmed Iliyasu , said the command had received a report of a missing person.

Justices Ademola, Dimgba resume sitting after DSS raid

Barely two weeks after eight senior judicial officers were raided by the operatives of the Department of State Services between October 8 and 9, two judges of the Federal High Court in Abuja have resumed sitting on Monday.

While Justice Adeniyi Ademola was arrested after the raid and later granted bail, Justice Nnamdi Dimgba’s residence was only searched but he was not arrested.

Kastina Police Orders Married 14-Year-Old Girl To Go Back To Her Family

14-year-old Habiba, who got married to a palace aide of Emir of Kastina, has been ordered by the Kastina State Police Command to return home as she’s too young to make decisions for herself.

According to Punchng, the directive came from the State’s Commissioner of Police,  Usman Abdullahi, after he received a petition about the issue in September and invited Lawal, the alleged abductor.

The command also disclosed that Habiba’s abductor, Lawal, who allegedly converted her to Islam forcefully, was released on bail, as there was no criminal charges against him.

Prophetess remanded for stealing neighbour’s turkey

41-year-old A C & S prophetess, Sola Ajayi, who allegedly stole a Canadian-breed life turkey valued at N30, 000,  is to remain behind bars, an Ile Ife Magistrates’ Court in Osun ruled on Monday. Ajayi was ordered to be kept in prison custody over the inability to perfect her bail.

Chief Magistrate, Olalekan Ijiyode had granted her bail in the sum of N30, 000 with one surety in like sum. Ijiyode added that the surety must be a civil servant and should also reside within the court’s jurisdiction.
