Man caught after buying condoms for sex with 11-year-old girl

38 years old Mark McKenna (pictured above), who was due to marry his long-time fiancee has been caught by a vigilante group trying to have sex with an 11-year-old girl.

According to Metro UK, 38-year-old Mark McKenna, was tracked down to Bluewater shopping centre in Kent after he bought condoms for his meeting with a young girl while his fiancee was on a hen do.

The report says that McKenna had sent a large volume of text messages and naked pictures of himself to the girl who did not exist before the meeting.

Nigeria will remain in recession till 2020 – Agbakoba

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Dr. Olisa Agbakoba, has said Nigeria will continue to wallow in economic recession until 2020 except the Federal Government takes hold of the banking sector and exert more regulatory control, among other measures.

Also, the senator representing Lagos-West Senatorial District, Senator Solomon Adeola, has called for urgent measures to tackle the current economic recession facing the country.

#EdoDecides: Police, DSS call for postponement of Edo election

The Nigerian Police Force and the Department of State Security DSS, have called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to postpone the Saturday September 10th governorship election in Edo state for security reasons. The security agencies made the call at a joint press briefing at the DSS Headquarters in Abuja today September 7th.

According to the spokesman of the police, DCP Don Awunah and his DSS counterpart, Tony Okeowo represented by Garba Abdullahi, credible intelligence available to them indicates that there may be a terror attack during next week's Sallah holidays, especially in Edo State. ‎

Obama cancels meeting with new Philippine President Duterte after he called him a SOB


United States president, Barack Obama has called off a planned meeting Tuesday with new Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, because he didn't want Obama to ask him questions about his directive for civilians to kill drug dealers in the Philippines. 

It's unusual for one president to tell another what to say or not say, and much rarer to call the other a "son of a bitch."  Before Duterte flew to Laos for a regional summit he warned Obama not to challenge him over extrajudicial killings in the Philippines.
Obama responded by saying:

"Clearly, he's a colorful guy." "What I've instructed my team to do is talk to their Philippine counterparts to find out is this in fact a time where we can have some constructive, productive conversations."

High Court restrains Imo state govt from relocating, destroying or tampering with Ekeukwu Owerri market

On Monday, an Imo State High Court which was presided over by Justice Sabinus I. Opara, restrained the state government from destroying, relocating or tampering with the Ekeukwu Owerri Market, pending the hearing and determination of the substantive suit, HOW/380/2016.
The respondents included the Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha the Attorney General of Imo State, and the Commissioner for Lands, Survey and Urban Planning.

Two killed as cultists clash again in Rivers

Two persons were, on Sunday night, shot dead during a cult clash in Egita community in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.
It was learnt that the two cult groups, Icelanders and the Greenlanders that have been terrorising the area, were locked in a war of supremacy.
A community source told our correspondent that the cause of the recent clash was still not known, but that the boys in the area had not clashed for a long time now.

A Florida man, Mack Yearwood, a man with two outstanding warrants as well as a possible tie to an open case was captured by police after he used his 'wanted by police' poster as his Facebook profile photo.

“Facebook is a great way to communicate and connect with old friends and family,” Cpl. Brian Bossio wrote in a post on the Stuart Police Department’s Facebook page.  If you are wanted by the police, it’s probably not a good idea to use the ‘Wanted of the Week’ poster of yourself as your profile pic.”

26-year-old Eritrean Merhawit Tesfamariam gave birth prematurely to twins on board a rickety boat off the Libyan coast in late August. Her twins, Hiyap (1.6 kilos) and Evenezer (1.3 kilos) are currently in incubators in Palermo's Cervello Hospital, Italy.

Woman arrested & charged with arson after setting ablaze car she assumed belonged to her ex boyfriend

A Florida woman, Carmen Chamblee, 19, has been arrested and charged with second degree arson for setting fire to a car she thought belonged to her ex boyfriend. Turns she set ablaze the wrong car.

According to ABC, authorities believe that Chamblee who has since been arrested, intentionally set a Honda on fire earlier this month. Security camera caught footage of the incident and it is believed that she thought that the vehicle belong to her ex boyfriend.

Lagos Police arrests house guard who killed his employer in Ajah

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested one Tanko Abdulateef, a 22-year old House guard who allegedly killed his employer, Mrs Mabel Mba Okafor in Ajah area of the State on August 17, 2016. The suspect, who was arrested from his hiding in Bali, Taraba State, was said to have stabbed the victim in the stomach and left her stomach ripped open.

It was also gathered that the suspect took away valuable items from the victim including three phones, trinket and a lot of clothes, all of which were recovered from him.

4 Soldiers of 'Operation Crocodile Smile' drown In Bayelsa boat mishap


Four soldiers that are part of the Operation Crocodile in the Niger Delta have drowned in a boat mishap in Bayelsa state today September 5th. The incident happened at about 10 am this morning along the Brass Water Front in Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa.

The riffles of the soldiers are currently missing. A resident of the community, Effa, who spoke with Leadership, said attempts by the youths in the community and other soldiers to rescue the soldiers failed as the drowned soldiers could not be found.

Civil servants in Edo State allegedly directed to wear APC arm bands or risk being sacked

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is claiming that the Edo State government has directed all civil servants in the state to wear APC arm bands and adorn their walls and tables in the office with the party’s posters and flags or risk being sacked.
A statement by the State Publicity Secretary, Mr Chris Nehikhare, condemned the directive, describing the move as a 'tragic and pathetic'
"Civil servants are supposed to be apolitical, the trend where they were ordered through text messages ostensibly from the Head of Service to immediately adorn the arm bands, paste posters and put the APC flag on their desks, ‘with immediate effect’ is a tragedy.

Former model and the wife of US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, Melania Trump has sued the US-based publisher of the Daily Mail Online and a blogger over stories making false and defamatory statements about her supposedly being an escort in the 1990s.

The Daily Mail story last month cited a Slovenian magazine’s report that a modeling agency that Trump worked with in New York in the 1990s also served as an escort business, linking wealthy clients with women for sexual services.

7.1 magnitude quake jolts New Zealand

WELLINGTON: A powerful 7.1-magnitude earthquake rocked New Zealand early Friday (Sep 2), the US Geological Survey said.

The tremor was estimated at a depth of around 30 kilometres, some 167 kilometres from Gisborne - off the coast of the country's north island - according to the agency.

55-year-old guard abducts, rapes 14-year-old for four days

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 55-year-old security guard, Yekini Ogunjobi, for alleged unlawful detention of a teenage girl in his apartment for four days.

The police said Ogunjobi raped the 14-year-old victim, Blessing (pseudonym) during her incarceration before she was rescued from the apartment on Esuola Street, Oko-Oba, in the Agege area of Lagos.

The Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, on Wednesday admitted that Nigeria was in its worst possible time with the Gross Domestic Product figures for the 2016 second quarter released by the National Bureau of Statistics showing the nation’s economy now in recession.

The nation’s external reserves fell by 2.86 per cent to $25.45bn on August 29, 2016, the latest report from the Central Bank of Nigeria showed on Wednesday. The foreign exchange reserves stood at $26.2bn at the end of July.

The continued scarcity of foreign exchange also pushed the naira to an all-time-low of 420 against the United States dollar at the parallel market.

MTN suspends contracts of their celebrity ambassadors

MTN Nigeria has reportedly suspended the ambassadorship of many of their ambassadors. According to an exclusive report by LIB, those affected include Project Fame ambassadors including Iyanya, Praiz and Chidinma, and other ambassadors like Falz, Skales, Tekno and Nkem Owoh and every other else.

MTN told them that they had no roles for them at the moment and didn't want to renew their contracts immediately. So right now, everything is pending.

NPA bans female staff from wearing trousers, miniskirts to work

According to a statement, the management of the Nigerian Port Authority (NPA) has banned its female staff from wearing miniskirts and jeans trousers to work. The general manager of NPA stressed that female staff members who are found wanting will be sanctioned. 

“It has been observed that despite the issuance of a couple of circulars vide HQ/GMHR/CON/G.3/128 of 25th August, 2008 and HQ/CR/AD/G.1/3039 of 19th December, 2014 on corporate Dress Code, some employees still indulge in improper dressing to the office. 

Man sentenced to 80 years jailterm is freed from prisonl after spending 21 years for crime he didn't commit

Darryl Howard, who was sentenced to 80 years in prison after a 1995 court trial was released from the Durham County Detention center in North Carolina on Wednesday after spending 21 years for a crime he didn't commit. 

Howard was convicted of the 1991 strangling and sexual assault of 29-year-old Doris Washington and her 13-year-old daughter, Nishonda., but the judge yesterday threw out the double murder conviction and ordered Howard's immediate and unrestricted release from prison, saying there was no DNA evidence unavailable at Howard's 1995 trial. 

"He is doing well" Julius Agwu's wife clears the air on his health status, thanks friends and fans for their support

Wife of Julius Agwu has reacted to reports making the round in the media about the comedian's current health status. The comedian, who survived a brain surgery last year, was hospitalized in London last weekend from stress of organizing his annual comedy show, Crack ya Ribs, which he was eventually unable to attend.

In an Instagram post shared today, Ibiere Agwu confirmed that her husband was indeed admitted to the hospital due to stress-related issues. The mother of two used the opportunity to thank fans, friends and colleagues for the outpouring of love and support.

Senate President, Bukola Saraki on Monday July 18th restated his loyalty to the governing All Progressives Congress (APC). Saraki also reiterated his belief that the President Buhari's government will redeem its electoral promises made during the 2015 general elections.

Rapper and actor, Nick Cannon joined Black Lives Matters protesters outside the Republican National Convention which started in Cleveland, Ohio, on Monday and attacked both the Democratic and the Republican  parties. Nick stood in front of banners and posters calling for justice and an end to shootings of black men by police officers.

The traditional ruler of the Ron/Kulere tribe of Bokkos LGA in Plateau State, His Royal Highness, Sir Lazarus Agai was murdered by suspected Fulani Herdsmen, yesterday evening Monday July 18.
According to Plateau News, the monarch was ambushed and murdered along with his bodyguards and driver on his way back home from his farm at Sha village in Bokkos.

Justice A.I Allagoa of the Federal High Court in Owerri, has affirmed the election of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State. Former governorship aspirant, Barr. Friday Nwosu also dragged Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to court over alleged forged tax certificates. However, the court ruled today that the plaintiff, (Nwosu) was unable to prove that the tax documents where forged and dismissed the matter.
